Secrets revealed at Cotehele
If you fancy a bit of history and a quiet lunch in this

‘Secret Cotehele ’?

‘We’ll disclose some of the well-guarded secrets of the
Edgcumbe family’s ancestral home for nearly six centuries, ’
says Charmian Saunders, Visitor
Services and Volunteer Manager. ‘You’ll be able to visit areas not normally
open to the public, meet the house
staff as they work on the winter clean and if the weather’s fine we’ll take you
up on the roof where you can get an incredible view of the Calstock viaduct and
of Plymouth.’
The day will start with a coffee,
followed by the tour in Cotehele
House, culminating with a two-course
lunch in the Barn Restaurant. Secret Cotehele will be on 7,
13, 19,
or 26 November, £25 pp includes
coffee and lunch, booking is
essential on 01579 351346.
While you’re there
don’t miss the new exhibition in Cotehele
Gallery. ‘Noel’ runs from 7 November
until 31 December (except 25 & 26 December) and features masses of
unique gifts of art for all pockets in a Christmas exhibition.
It’s the perfect place to find that unique gift.
‘We’re very excited because we’ve just expanded the gallery, ’ says Charmian. ‘This year we’ve added a range of
British designer clothing including Corinne Carr and Blossom plus jewellery and
accessories.’
But book early at Sandhill House Country House retreat, because the 'secret's' getting out!
