The Most Quintessentially English Day!

Well done St Luke's Hospice! Having been told that because we were on the outskirts of Gunnislake, and up the hill, we probably wouldn't have many visitors, we were 'killed in the rush' with both local residents and visitors to Cornwall and Devon wishing to see the VERY well kept secret, Sandhill House B&B and The Tamar Orchard Barn, self-catering or indeed indulgent B&B, with an additional alternative of a luxury, breakfast hamper!

And a real turn up for the books was the Tavistock Brass Ensemble who assembled in the middle of Sandhill House B&B's formal garden and played brilliantly in nearly 40C temperature!

I think the weather did St Luke's Hospice a huge favour in terms of bringing people out so I am sure their fundraising was a lot more successful than if it had rained.

Apparently, the weather is set to be fantastic for the rest of this week and long may it reign for the stunning Tamar Valley.

I am absolutely certain we will make a special weekend of this event next year; perhaps you would like to book in order to help produce home made Cornish cream teas, home made lemonade - I know that would have gone down a storm yesterday, or to be a steward for the big day? We will keep you posted about the garden open days and hope to see you next July.
