Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City, Seafood Festival - 20 - 22 September 2013

Sandhill House luxury bed & breakfast and the self-catering Tamar Orchard Barn are delighted to let you know that Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City, is hosting a fantastic seafood festival, which is perfect for a long weekend stay Friday - Sunday 20 - 22 September, either pampered in the B&B or perhaps as part of a longer 'discovery' stay at the Tamar Orchard Barn. I know Sandhill House is not in Plymouth but even better, tucked away from traffic and city pressures, we have the world famous Tamar Valley Railway line just at the end of our carriage drive! So, you can enjoy a really special cooked breakfast and then take a 45 minute, leisurely trip on the train taking in the breathtaking colours of Autumn leaves and the spectacular views from the Calstock Viaduct to arrive at a festival of gourmet, fresh seafood, with perhaps some beautifully dry Muscadet Sevre Maine to compliment your meal because you will not have to worry about driving; you will be taking the train back to Gunnislake Station, where you can either stroll down the carriage drive with some special gourmet memories or we can pick you up from the station, and let you relax in your luxury accommodation.

"Seafood, local produce, live entertainment including music and hands on activity with marine experiments and filleting fish. Jonty Depp (known to some as Captain Jack Sparrow) will also be amongst the crowd with other street performers. Local fishermen will bring their catch in and tell their stories. The Aquariam will be bringing marine science onto the streets with STEMFest or visit the Fish Market on Sutton Harbour's Heritage Trail".
