Happy New Year from Sandhill House Country House Retreat with B&B accommodation! What a fantastic time we have had? Busy, busy, busy but we met the most wonderful guests, so now we are really looking forward to the Spring starting with banks of snowdrops around the garden, in January, although saying that, despite the very mild year, they are proving reluctant to put in an appearance! This time last year they were in bloom! 

and, two months later than last year we had our first primrose but I think this was down to the wonderful summer drying the ground out which, of course, primroses hate. They simply thrived in the awful weather in the previous year putting in their first appearance in September. 

Hoorah! We have passed the shortest day and now it will not be long until the garden is covered in primroses.
