Don't Miss The Gunnislake Festival 1 - 4 August

I have to admit one of my top priorities is to find a way to present local events, around Gunnislake and the Tamar Valley on a local events blog page, because there are some really fantastic events where the local community come together; I think is it based on finding any excuse to have fun!

In the meantime I felt it was really important to let you know about the Gunnislake Festival to make sure you book your B&B at Sandhill House, or perhaps whole week in self catering Tamar Orchard Barn to really max out on having fun. The first event is a memorial walk around the local area to explore the history of the area, but the main festival kicks off on 1 August and last for 4 days!

Given Gunnislake only has 1,800 inhabitants, it is the most amazing 4 day event with a local history display, local artists' exhibition where there is just so much talent, and then the climax of the weekend is a great festival which takes over the council car park, and pubs, of course. Last year we managed to squeeze in an hour to see what it was all about, and were truly stunned by the amount of hard work that had gone in to giving people such a great day out. There were numerous stalls raising money for charities, a steel band, falconry display, live music, and best of all a re-run of the Christmas pantomine!
