The Tamar Orchard Barn is the ultimate secret retreat, sitting in 2 acres of gardens and well away from the 'hustle and bustle'! And this is one of the views from where you might put your bbq for a night of alfresco dining or plain just chilling out with a glass of wine after a days walking, cycling or may be golf. You can just see the famous (well locally) Chimney Rock to the right of the double stemmed tree. Lightning took the chimney rock formation out some years ago, but there is a photo of it in all its previous glory in the excellent fish and chip shop at Drakewalls.
Also, in your private, south facing garden, apart from highly scented sweetpeas and lavender around the French windows and creeping thyme in the limestone terrace, you also have your very own rose garden, which currently looking just beautiful, with all the flowers looking fresh and bright.
Tonight there was the most perfect rose I have seen for years but sadly, my little 'point and shoot' camera just cannot do justice to it's deep, velvety blood red colour. Wow!
And the same for this old fashioned rose. It really isn't this pink but I cannot capture it; it has a more apricoty tint. You really will have to come and see it for yourself.
And, can anyone tell me what variety this simply stunning rose is? I never used to like bi-coloured roses but this is so beautiful, it takes my breath away.
